About 15 minutes north of Phuket International Airport, you’ll find tranquil beaches along the western coast of Thailand. One such gem is Khao Pilai beach. Having previously explored the area, I took a ride up one late afternoon to spend a little more time on the beach. The late afternoon tide meant a couple of fishing boats were moored along the shoreline, with their captains taking a rest in a small shelter built just before the treeline. These colourful fishing boats, the afternoon sun, rock formations and the gorgeous coconut trees swaying in the wind made for a great afternoon shoot. I think the next time I go round will be more toward sunset time, when I might be able to capture one of those legendary coastal Thai sunsets.
